In all classes for the over 2s, each lesson, a child who has done something special that week - ie overcome a fear, or made particular progress, will be allowed to take a Stanley Seal soft toy home to borrow for the week. The idea is that the seal goes home with a different child each week and works as an incentive for the young swimmers. The seal will need to come back to the lesson the following week so that it can be presented to someone else. I am hoping that this will prove to be a success!!!

Some of our classes have 2 teachers in the pool
Friendly, experienced teacher will enable you to teach your child to swim and gain confidence in the water.
Class includes action songs and water based play.
Changing mats provided.
Free car parking!
Maximum of 12 adults and 12 infants per session. (Please respect our ratio of one adult per child as it keeps the lessons safe and fun for all except for the Wednesday 12.00 and Friday 11.30 classes which have a different format.).
1 PARENT, 2 CHILDREN CLASSES - FRIDAY 11.30 BOTTISHAM
This is a new class where one parent will bring 2 children to the lesson. The criteria for entry into this class are as follows:
ONE CHILD MUST BE EMOTIONALLY CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO TAKE INSTRUCTION FROM THE TEACHER AND TO SPEND PARTS OF THE LESSON AWAY FROM THE PARENT. THIS CHILD MUST ALSO BE WILLING TO WEAR A BUOYANCY AID AND MUST BE ABLE TO CONTROL THAT BUOYANCY THEMSELVES SO THAT THEY CAN BE INDEPENDENT. IE THE PARENT SHOULD NOT NEED TO KEEP PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH THE CHILD DURING THE LESSON.
This class has a teacher and an assistant teacher in the water. The idea behind the class is that parents learn how to take 2 children swimming by themselves with confidence, and that the parent can take 2 children to swimming lessons without the need for childcare. The class will include safety points for taking 2 children swimming - ie how to enter and exit the pool, ways of organising both children in the water, aswell as giving both children the opportunity to engage with the lesson activities at their own level. The lesson will be differentiated to meet the needs of both children.
Over 3s Transition Class - Wednesday 12.00 Chesterton.
This is a new class aimed at helping the transition between having a parent in the water, and mainstream swimming lessons. Parents are welcome to attend for a while, but the aim is to have just children and teachers in the water as soon as possible and for the parents to be watching from the cafe! There will be a teacher and an assistant teacher in the water with the children. (maximum 6 children)
It is important that parents are discerning when booking swimming classes for their children. All teachers should be happy to provide evidence that they are appropriately trained, qualified, and insured so please don’t be embarrassed to ask for this information when looking for classes.

IF ALL PARENTS USE THE LOCKERS IT HELPS TO KEEP ITEMS SAFE AND ALLOWS THE OTHER CLASSES TO HAVE MORE SPACE IN THE CHANGING-ROOMS.
